Synopsis FOR the purpose of altering the title and responsibilities, powers, and duties of the Chief Executive Officer of the Prince George’s County public school system; repealing certain provisions of law establishing that, in Prince George’s County, the county superintendent of schools is the Chief Executive Officer of the Prince George’s County public school system; repealing certain provisions of law authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to consolidate schools and arrange for student transportation under certain circumstances; making certain provisions of law that relate to a certain Certified County–Based Business Participation Program in Prince George’s County applicable to the county superintendent rather than to the Chief Executive Officer; repealing a certain provision of law exempting Prince George’s County from certain other provisions of law that relate to county superintendents; repealing certain provisions of law that relate to the selection, appointment, term of office, reappointment, suspension, compensation, responsibilities, powers, and duties of the Chief Executive Officer; repealing a certain provision of law establishing the purpose of the county board of education; repealing certain provisions of law limiting the authority of the county board to implement certain policies or take certain actions; repealing a certain definition; making conforming changes; requiring the publisher
