Delegates present were:  Benson, Conroy, Davis, Frush, Gaines, Griffith, Healey, Holmes, Hubbard, Kelley, Menes, Moe, Niemann, Parker, Patterson, Proctor, Ramirez, Ross, Turner, Vallario, Vaughan  

 

Absent:  Delegate Holmes

The first Meeting of the Delegation was called to order 9:00am.  A warm welcome was offered by Chair Howard and Delegate Ross opened with prayer.

 

The review of the Agenda showed no reports and there were no bills  on the consent calendar.

 

The Chair passed out a report of the website to inform the delegation that we closed 2003 session in the black.

 

Chair Howard introduced Mr. Jack Johnson, our County Executive who gave us handouts of his Team Prince George’s County, Legislative Agenda for 2004.  The County Executive expounded briefly on his message as he stated:  “We will work tirelessly to ensure progress in public education, health care, public safety and programs to promote Livable Communities.”  He also stated how he looked forward to working in the best interest of the more than 800,000 citizens and residents who call Prince Georges’s county home.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00am.

Our next meeting will be held January 30, 2004.

Guest Speakers will be Dr. Beatrice Tignor, Chair of the Prince’s Georges County Board of Education and Dr. Andre’ J. Hornsby.
